Latta is a school system where expectations are high for students and teachers alike. Although it is a small K-12 school system, there is exceptional technology available to students and faculty. A 28-station computer lab is available at the secondary level for teachers to use with their classes.

In my science classroom there are 14 laptop computers and five PCs which students use for a multitude of purposes. These laptops are wirelessly connected to the Internet and can be linked to probeware for use in data collection during laboratory activities. I routinely utilize a LCD projector and animated PowerPoint™ presentations while teaching new concepts.

I teach approximately 100 students each day in six 45-minute class periods. The ability levels of my students are varied, and special education students are mainstreamed into the regular classes. My classes are regarded as college preparatory classes by the students enrolled. I'm proud to be a part of such a fine educational establishment.
